- I have a USR 28.8VI internal modem in my 486 DX2 running Windows 95. I'm also
- using the built in PPP support to connect to the internet. When I try to use
- the default FIFO buffer settings in win95 the modem will connect but the only
- thing it will transfer is text. When I try to ftp a file it will not transfer
- anything and also when I run Netscape the inline graphics will not load, only
- text. When I disable the FIFO buffer then I get a much better transfer rate.
- I'm seeing about a 2.5 to 3 kbyte transfer rate. This is my first 28.8 modem,
- is this a decent transfer rate? Any idea why it won't work properly with the
- FIFO buffer enabled? Thanks for any input.
