  12. I have a USR 28.8VI internal modem in my 486 DX2 running Windows 95. I'm also 
  13. using the built in PPP support to connect to the internet.   When I try to use 
  14. the default FIFO buffer settings in win95 the modem will connect but the only 
  15. thing it will transfer is text.  When I try to ftp a file it will not transfer 
  16. anything and also when I run Netscape the inline graphics will not load, only 
  17. text.  When I disable the FIFO buffer then I get a much better transfer rate.  
  18. I'm seeing about a 2.5 to 3 kbyte transfer rate.  This is my first 28.8 modem, 
  19. is this a decent transfer rate?  Any idea why it won't work properly with the 
  20. FIFO buffer enabled?  Thanks for any input.
